What is it about prime numbers that I like so much?
It used to be multiples of 5. Whenever I adjusted the volume on the TV or on the radio or anything that had numbers...I would use to always leave it at a multiple of five. If someone else changed it and I just happened to be looking at it...I would change it to a multiple of five. It's almost like some sort of compulsive disorder. But I like it. Five is also a prime number.
My favorite prime number is 23. It is made of 2 prime numbers: 2 and 3. It also happens to be the date of my birthday and...well, needless to say, my 23rd birthday was very symbolic for me. I got to turn 23 on the 23rd of this beautiful month called October. The transition between fall and winter is also my favorite season...on the east coast. On the west coast, it looks about the same. I love the changing colors of the leaves...the smell of cool, crisp air.
So, back to prime numbers.
Prime numbers...they're very beautiful. Like the Emperor Penguin that has only one mate its entire life (upon further research, they are "serial monogamists"). They (the prime numbers) belong to 1 and itself. All those other numbers have multiple factors it could divide itself into and sometimes, I think they're number whores.
Maybe as a personal preference, I don't like the idea of multiple partners simultaneously hence this subconsciously melds itself into my preference of numbers.
Prime numbers are independent. They don't really need other numbers to validate their existence. They just need themselves. And I guess with prime numbers, they're usually odd numbers (with the exception of 2 - if it even really counts)...so there's always a middle point, like how the middle point of 23 is 12 and the middle point of 5 is 3. I like it when there's a middle. It holds everything together.
Oh and that would explain why I love symmetry and balance too...but sometimes they're too even.
